April 27, 2008 On Friday April 25 I fished with Neil Martin and his granddaughter Kara Stewart and one of his grandsons Shea Stewart all of Miles City, MT. The fishing trip was a birthday present for Kara from Grandpapa. It was a uncomfortable day wind blowing overcast, sun out for a little while then blow some more. Kara did get a chance to reel in a couple of fish, she caught a 5 pound northern pike and a 10 pound lake trout. On Saturday I fished with Marcus Grinstaff and his fiancee Gena Foster both of Billings, MT. It was a tough day with high wind warnings for the reservoir. The waves were too high to control the boat on the south side of the reservoir, so we had to fish the north side. It took awhile but Gena caught a 8 pound lake trout at 2:30 and Marcus caught a 11.5 pound trout a short time later. This was some cold fishing with water temperature only 40*. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR FISHING!!! April 20, 2008 A friend went lake trout fishing on Friday with his three boys and they got 8 lakers. C. B. Schantz and myself tried it on Saturday. C. B. caught a 26" 5plus pound sauger and a 10 pound laker while I caught a 10 pound laker and lose another one. Another friend and his two sons tried it on Saturday and they caught 3 lakers and 2-10 pound northern pike. The open water fishing season has started hopefully it's a good season for you! GOOD LUCK IN YOUR FISHING!!! April 15, 2008 The ice went off yesterday in most spots and the rest should go off today. Open water fishing is know starting. The lake trout should be biting and the walleyes will be heading the the spawning spot and starting to spawning now. I'll have a report after this weekend on lake trout fishing and the Tough Guy Tournament. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR FISHING !!!
