First Report of 2026

The start of the 2026 fishing season has been interesting. Despite early warm weather, the water is still very cold. The warmest parts of the lake are still in the low to mid 50's in the heat of the day. With some windy days ahead, that is unlikely to change.

Despite this, big fish are still being found. Numbers are not where we want to see, nearly every day on the water so fare is producing something big of some kind. Smallmouth are just moving onto their beds, so they should only be getting better. Pike and walleye are improving daily.
